stereo memory issue HELP!

I'm having an annoying problem. I own a 93 ford Ranger xlt and installed an aftermarket stereo. There was a wiring diagram right on the harness plugs. The memory wire seems to be getting juice, but my stereo wont keep the settings. I'm pretty sure it isn't the stereo either because I was recently using it in my escort and had no problems with it keeping settings. The stereo powers on, works, but just doesn't keep settings (bass, treb., clock, etc.) when you switch the ignition off. Any ideas??

The memory wire needs to have constant +12v. What I usually do is check the power wires with a volt meter so I know for sure which is constant and which turns off when the car is off... I think you just need to go over your wiring again...

I did go over the wires again, and it was getting a constant flow. I'm 100% positive it is hooked up properly.

That's very strange. Let me know if you figure it out, I've never heard of that happening before.. I would be tempted to test it with an analog volt meter to see if there are any drops or spikes in the voltage from that wire. If you can't get it, I would resort to hooking up an alternate source for 12v, like a battery charger, to make sure the deck isn't doing something strange.. If the deck is still good, I would be tempted to just run a wire though the firewall from the battery to the deck. You probably already know to put an inline fuse near the battery, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. My 88 has (did have) a plugged hole in the firewall, under the carpet, near the brake pedal. Other than that, I can't imagine what would be causing your deck to loose settings like that..
