Just different years with the usual improvements to each model. It would take pages to go over all the little changes they probably did. The "i" is the first fuel injected model. And the RR was the first time they designed a Honda 600 as more of a focussed track weapon than an all around street machine. Hope that helps.

hmm cool, so theres not much difference between like the RR and the F4i.
How would a F4i compair to the RR on the racetrack?

That's the whole point. Big differences there. The RR is more of a track bike that can be ridden on the street. The F4i is a street bike that can be ridden on the track. They have drastically different riding positions. The F4i is basically a carry over model from 04. The F2-F4 models have more in common than the F4i and the RR do. The RR is benefitting from racetrack technology trickle down in the form of a rear suspension designed after the RC211V MotoGP bike. You also get center exit exhaust and some other race ready goodies (I think the swingarm pivot is adjustable, but not sure).

Plus you get more midrange on the F4i and more top-end on RR. The new F4I's are single seat design as oppose to split seat back in 01, that's the only difference between two F4I's.

The RR handles better, and the new ones have trick stuff like inverted forks. But it's at the last spot in terms of overall performance relative to other 600s. So what's great now, won't be tomorrow.

for me the main difference between the RR and the F series is that the F series is based towards a sports tourer and the RR is based on its bigger brother as an ass up head down ball tearer
