Take out the back seats, and build boxes that will aim the speakers right at the driver and passenger... That way you won't even be able to think yourself hear. J/k, I don't want you to think I'm being a jerk, just messing around...

Well I saw a 99 mustang that had a pretty big sub in the back once, not that camaros and mustangs can ever be compared to each other... but one trick he did was removing the weather stripping around the trunk and and hitting it real hard until it went in... he didnt damage anything but it was a stereotypical mustang owner thing to do. removing the weather strip may just give you enough clearance though, then reapplying it of course.
I would suggest something like a 10" MTX sub (or a 12 if it will fit), I was checking out subs and I was amazed (as were others) at how much a single 10" MTX could really put out. That, an amp, some good JBLs.... and you have an aftermarket deck right? of course you do... then your set :)
