Automatic Heat Controls

I have a 98 Blazer LT with the auto heat(numbers instead of the red/blue lines). It seems when I have it set on the hotest setting it blows super hot(like it's supposed to) but when I have it on the next lowest setting (78) it's not even close to enough heat. I don't feel much difference between 72 - 78. I hope this makes some sence. Any thoughts?

You might have a problem with the blending door not blending the air stream properly thorugh the heater core.
Is you engine getting up to temp?
When the engine is completely warmed up, it should be a notch or two to the left of the middle mark on the gauge.

Is the change that drastic?

Yup - you go from sweating to pretty damn cool. There's no inbetween. At least winter is almost over here - I can work on it over the summer. Firdt thing is to give it a proper flushing. It may not help this problem but it is needed anyway.
