There are so many variables... What else do you have done to the car, or what are you planning on? I've heard Crower cams are great (http://catalog.exileracing.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=81) , so I'm getting Stage II Crower Cams... Stage III (the highest) will have horrible idle problems for a street car, but Stage I isn't agressive enough. They also have turbo grinds for the Stage II... The higher the stage, the more high-end power, basically... just don't overdo it.
Even with the Stage I Crower cams I'd recommend titanium retainers and valve springs. This prevents a valve from being held open because it can't bounce back quick enough.
Hope this is helpful!

Idle will always be different from stock, no way around that. The question is WILL it idle :) I ran HKS 264s, and 272s. No difference in idle that I could see hear or feel. I Didnt measure the vacuum though. I see no reason why someone wouldnt go right to the 272s and be done with it. Or the equivelent from another manufacturer. Neither of those two require valve springs.

High top end cams would be the stage 2's or a set of HKS 272's. These are both aggressive STREET cams. Cowl also makes some good 4g63t cams. Another option if you are a 2g is to put on a 1g head. The 1g heads are better: flows better, stronger and had slightly more aggressive cams. 272's will give u lots more top end. With a decent amount of mods, it is not uncommon to see jumps of 50 ponies when installing some HKS 272's
The 4g63 engine is extremly stable, and u probably won't need to upgrade valves, springs, or retainers untill you hit about 350 horses. It isn't uncommon to see stock blocks putting 4hundo ponies to the ground.
