First of all i would like to say that you have a great subject with the dakar rally. I'm a big fan of it too. But however i have two points of critic about the realism of this Unimog.

Well, the lift of the suspension seems a little overdone to me, because a standard Unimog already has a great ground clearance. The way you modified it will only make it more easy to tip over in corners.
second point is the angle of the steering wheel. I think it has to be more vertical to be attached to the steering box.

Cool project and keep it up, mate

Good, I put last post with advances before putting the Unimog finished.

Alpina, thank you very much by your post and your critics.
What you comment to me they have been both great mistakes of the project: too much height and the back corners, that must have been "flat" to have greater output angle. Unfortunately when I realized height longer no had returned back due to the modification of the transmissions, and the one of the back box was too much late, already only wanted to finish this project as soon as possible. ;)

Ace weatherin techniques you have there. Can you answer me one question though? What are the debossed shapes in the plastic on the lip of the bonnet? Should these not have been filled & sanded?

Just me bein picky - I ain't slaggin'

After yours dakar cars are finished, you should take them to the beach to fine sand and take good pictures there.

Fabulous progress...!!
This that you did is not very easy to do for that admire your work of that kit.
I liked the interior of the kit and of the effect of dust of the dakar that you applied.
I have a similar kit to that to do (Revell Unimog Paris dakar) only that this already comes prepared, and it is not necessary to do those alterations all that you did.

Really and a feather not to have more kits of that theme (dakar)

Hello

SF, those forms have the original hood, for that reason I have not filled up them with putty; in any case, they come very badly molded ;)

Jurva, the beach is enough far from where I live, in Madrid... take a map of Spain and you will see that I have a little far :D

Zek, you've a Unimog Dakar kit????????? :eek7: Please, take some photos to the kit and sends to angelsaxo@angelsaxo.com, I do not find any type of information by Internet and that interests much to me!

Very thanks to all for reply, see you in this post (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=439262)
