Hello, everyone, this is my first post here. On Sunday, i bought a 2002 ext. cab LS silverado with the "power pack" (LSD, trailering kit and the 5.3). Anyway, the truck has 26,000 miles on it and i am planning a road trip in about a week and a half. I was wanting to know, specifically, what, if any, mods lend themselves to helping the mpg in this truck. I read another post that the Nelson PCM helps a little. Also, i have heard that the TB spacer is supposed to help a little, too. Is this true? What else is true?

Greetings BlenderWizard,
There's a thread specifically about gas mileage improvement ideas - including using Nelson tunes etc.. I've linked to that thread below:

99-02 are $385 I think, and the 03-05 are more around $500

Wow, that's quite a price difference. When you installed it, did you have any of the restart problems he mentions on the site?

I personally didn't have any problems at all. I installed the PCM and it fired right up. I did the suggested break-in procedure and it felt great! After another 400 miles or so it really awoke!
