anyone here a james bond fan?
the new movie is going to be based on ian flemming's first bond book, "Casino Royale"
it should be a good film, well better than the recent ones, i.e. Die Another Day. its going to be more like the classic stuff, like goldfinger and thunderball. its suppose to be more realistic, with less emphasis on laser equiped satellites.
the book was pretty good also, i read it a few years ago and it wasn't that bad. some parts of it didn't seem right though, like bond having to gamble in order to get to the villian. but overall it was good, it gave a nice history on how bond got his "00" insignia, and how he meets Felix. the movie should be like a prequal.
anyone know anything about the new film

Casino Royale will be cool. it could have been cooler though. If Brosnan stuck around, Tarantino was going to direct it. Now they have to find a new Bond, and a new director.

I'm glad they're finally making it. The original Casino Royale was a spoof with David Niven and :puke: woody allen, and sucked totally.
I'll be glad to see them get back to the original spy story, rather than the slapstick of Roger Moore and the too-heavy gadgetry of the most recent movies.

I'll let uncle Raymond know about the book though it was a movie adaptation you can always count on the movie and the book differing a bit . . .
I preferred Sean Connery but I like his looks now than when he was "pretty boy" Bond . . .

I've seen some of the people they're considering to play Bond now..... and i'm not impressed
I think Brosnan will be the last good bond... these other guys dont seem to fit the discription to me

Yeah; Bond was mid-30's, I think in the books. Using a 22 year old actor doesn't fit.
