Over a year now and I have never done it, but I know I should do it.
Increases tire life, I know
How often, every 3 months or every 3,000 miles?

thats way too often, no matter waht the tire guys tell you. i run about 20,000 then put the front in the back and the back in the front. run another 20 or so and look. trying to get somewhat even wear, dont need to change every year.

Most places recommend every 5 to 10 thousand miles. I drove one of mine for 40 thousand and never rotated. All 4 tires wore evenly. But all front end parts were constantly checked and alignment kept up. Your preference. Each tire manufacturer will tell you different. Each tire will wear differently also.

I worked as a Tech at Firestone for a while..and we suggested every other oil change for even wear. But its allup to your alignment and susp. on how fast tires wear. And if you buy from them its free anyways. I'd suggest every other oil change.

will this stop my car from shaking? When i'm driving about 60-70 mph in my 99 explorer...it shakes quiet a bit (or is it normal?). My radar detector looks like its gonna fall off...

No that will not stop your car from shaking..that most likely is a wheel off ballance due to wear or a weight missing....take your car in for a tire balancing and that should fix your problem.
