Guys,
Have any of you changed your wiper blades to teh silicone ones? I read that they were much better when it rained ..in that the rain beaded up and visibility was better. What are your experiences?

I haven't used them before, but as far as wiper care & extending the life out of them......just take a cloth of some sort & spray silicone onto the cloth & then wipe the rubber part that meets your windshield a few times & then re-wipe a few times with another clean part of the rag where you haven't sprayed any silicone. You will be amazed at the amount of black crap that comes off of them.

Benfit will be: your wipers will work like new again for a while longer. Don't get any silicone spray on your window though!

Basically a good idea to wipe down all of the rubber on your vehicle...like the seals around your door jambs & the back window's rubber. It keeps them flexible & like new & prevents squeaks.

If you want to see the water "bead and roll off", try an application of Rain-X to your windshield. You won't even need the wipers as any speed over about 20mph causes the water to ead and blow right off. It's pretty amazing to be driving through the rain without your wipers on and still have excellent visibility.

As for wipers, check out the new "Reflex" style ones. They are the ones with basically a single piece of curved metal, no moving parts to freeze or corrode, excellent contact across the whole windshield... they really do a great job. I put them on my wife's TB and now she only uses about 1/4 of the washer fluid. I figure I'm saving money!
