I just got a 2000 jaguar S type. Its got a 6 disc changer, and 6 mids (not sure what sizes), and a pair of tweets, all stock. I don't want to lose function of my disc changer by putting in an aftermarket deck, but I also don't want to compromise sound quality to my subs by using high level inputs on my amp. I'm kind of purplexed. I don't know what to do. I have a head unit, and I have amps, and subs, and wires, I'm just not sure what my best option is. Any ideas?

you can use a line output converter to interface your current stock head unit to aftermarket RCA type equipment.

I would say your best bet would be to go with an aftermarket cd changer then you dont really have to worry about it.

Bingo use an LOC, search on ebay...they're cheap brand new!

be careful of cheap LOC's ..... if the inductance is wrong it will be a hi-pass filter (will cut you bass dramatically)

Yep well, you can always add anything to the OEM stuff like stated above but obviously you'll lack in the SQ depo. There's just no way around it other than installing an aftermarket radio and then lose the changer.

PaulD, I will agree that OEM stereos have come a long way but still need to go further. The biggest problem is lack of quality. They usually have poor amp(either internal or external) and poor speakers. This is real evident when you put an amp on any of it. You'll notice that the bass frequencies tend to deminish the louder the music is.

I was mostly talking about the head unit ....... since I am only using the "amp" for a preamp signal into the EQ, it's not bad. I oughta post pics of the speakers that came out of the accord doors.
