why does a shoe need a brain?

something tells me they'll be smarter than their owner

What does the "brain" actually do? What's its function?

Wonder if it's powered by Microsoft...I can only imagine having to take them off frequently to reboot them if they are.

I'm serious. Does anyone have any clue why you would spend money on a shoe with a brain?

I would be ashamed to have shoes that were smarter than me. Though that wouldent take much:biggrin:

it automatically and continually adjust itself to a runner's size, pace, terrain and even fatigue level.

The Adidas 1 uses a sensor, a microprocessor and a motorized cable system to automatically adjust the shoes' cushioning. The sensor under the heel measures compression and decides whether the shoe is too soft or firm. That information is sent to the microprocessor and, while the shoe is in the air, the cable adjusts the heel cushion.

F that. I want my smart shoes to be able to like, tie themselves, and help me with my homework.

If i were to get smart shoes, I'd want ones exactly like those which Michael J. Fox wore in Back to the Future II. They'd clean themselves and tie themselves. This is what I want. I also want his hoverboard though.

BZZZT! There goes your $200.

THAT's what happens when they get wet.

Not worth the cash, IMO. It's a pair of shoes.

Looks cool though. I just can't handle shoes that are smarter than me.

I've read ALL abotu them. They were presented recently at some tech show too. Shits are seriously cool! The electronics are sealed inside. The heel is the part that moves and adjusted based on like 8 factors. If I had the $ to blow, (i.e. not dumping money into my car by the truckload) then I'd buy some. They're supposed to work really well.

For $200 they can stay at the store.. :screwy:
I buy a $75-90 pair of sneakers every 2-3 months I run and wear them to the gym lifting 5 days a week. My sneaks don't last too long with the amount of abuse I give them. once I replace my gym shoes, my old ones become the hiking and fishing shoes which quickly get disgusting and end up in the trash.

Suprisingly cheap seeing as how I blow that much on a pair anyway. They looks okay but I've seen better looking ones but I'll probably give them a try to see how they feel.

Probably crap. Just a sign of future shoe technology i'm sure.
