lift gate lock

Does anyone know how the 1993 Cherokee Country, rear liftgate lock is mounted? Yesterday I went to open my rear liftgate and the lock mechnism was very loose. I was able wiggle it and it came right out. Maybe some clip or something came off. The lock housing is keyed for the cutout in the liftgate, but I didn't find anything that had fallen off.

Yep, I got worried about someone breaking in so I opened the liftgate and shook it up and down. I heard this faint sound like a loose piece of metal moving around. So after a few more seconds of shaking, out comes the clip to hold the lock cylinder in. All fixed now.
