ok i had a 93 laser 1.8 5 speed and i wrecked it. i just recently bought a 93 eclipse 1.8 5 speed. the guy at the dealership said that the car needed a new engine. I turned the key and it started right up. the thing is that this car has no acceleration! it takes off fine, then i shift into 2nd and it loses ALL power. then it gets up to around 4000 and gets it back a little bit. then 3rd and it loses power until the higerh rpm's again. also, the car ticks a lot. i changed the oil, took my test pipe, k&n filter, and other small things that i just bought for the blue car and swapped it all onto the new car. still didnt help. so my dad said it could be a vacuum leak so i plugged one of them up. no help. so, WHY IS MY CAR SO SLOW? like i said the guy at the dealership said it needed a new engine but couldnt tell me why. could someone please help because this car is so slow it is driving me crazy. thanks

Ha Ha Ha :screwy: That is not a sign of CW!!!

First I would check to see if you have bad compression in the cylinders and also check your spark plugs to make sure they are good and or gapped properly.... The ticking you hear is probably your lifters... it is a very common sound... Mine would come and go as it pleased...
just go through and check off the small easy things you can check... work your way up to the big/spendy things.. lol... good luck...

:eek7: That's F'd Up. His engine is not even the one notorious for thrust bearing failure. You should not say shit like that.
