easiest way to tell if you have AWD is look underneath the back axle on your van and look for a differential, if you see that, you have AWD. As far as the alternator, look on the alternator itself and you should see a tag saying something like this: DENSO 120 HS. That means your alternator's max amperage output is 120 amps.
