Central console idea - 98 Sub:

If you have a Sub like mine, you have that plastic console between the front buckets, and then you have this vast area between the console and the dash. I would like to utilize this space, as in, find a nice looking console that I can either add there and keep the stock console, or replace the entire thing. I've noticed that the next model change (in the 2000+ models I believe) have a console that covers this area from the dash all the way back between the seats. There is room for additional stereo components, cup holders and other cool things like power outlets (12V) for the rear seats. Of course the vent options would not work without significant mods, but I could easily wire up the cig lighters.

Question is - will it fit, even close? mainly concerned about the interface between the 98 dash and the 2000+ console front piece, and then of course it would have to be able to be mounted to the floor without massive mods.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Completely not what your asking but have you seen the ugly subwoofer's Crutchfield sells that replace the old body style console?
