'94 Corolla - No Spark

My brother has a 94 corolla. It will not start, there is no spark. He says he has replaced the coil and plugs but still no fix. I suggested a crank/flywheel sensor may have gone out since I had similar symptons on my chrysler cirrus and that was the problem with it. Napa told him there is no crank sensor. Is that true, I saw a sensor mounted on the backside of the bell housing. What else could the problem be?

I'm not sure if there is a crank sensor/pickup or not.
Does the starter still spin?
If you haven't done so already I would check your cap and rotor for the distributor.
If they need to be replaced...
The cap should cost around $25, but I've had places overcharge and go twice that. If they do buy the cap online.
Also look for bad connections between the battery and other parts of the car... make sure all ground wires are connected.
Check all your fuses.
