Sending Unit/Scan Tool Hookup

Two things:

i tested my fuel gauge sending unit and found it faulty. it reads about 2-3 gallons less than what tank really holds. Anyone know where to find a new sending unit to purchase?

secondly, since last summer, my car has hesitated/surged/ and now seems to be confused on what gear it needs to be in. it's NOT slipping, but around the 2-3 gear shift it rarely down/upshifts if i mess with throttle around that area. still hesitates at coasting speeds and sputters (not like it's gonna die) but seems confused. no codes, fuel pressure checked GOOD, compression great, timing checked, fully tuned, etc. does not die if throttle body is choked off. smoke box DID NOT find any vacuum leaks. any ideas or else is there anywhere to connect a scan tool to test various sensors, etc? thanks in advance for response to either.

What year is your car? 97 and up had the OBDII connector just under the driver's side dash, right above your gas foot. Before that, I couldn't tell you. Probably either under the hood on the firewall, or in the fuse panel area.
