a port and polish could run around $800-1000. with a good cam u could net 20-30 hp. with vtec and larger valves 50+ hp.

if you pay $1000 for a p&p they better give you a bj with that.
you can get a good port a polish for like $250.

Well, if you get it while you wait for your car to get done it might be worth it :D

so can a port and polish take the place of getting new headers? or should you get headers and then port and polish those or is that already done to them? no idea here!

a GOOD p&p will only net you around 5-10 whp. swirl polish the valves, add a valve job, and go with a higher lift cam, and you'll get higher gains than you will without the p&p... up to 50% more gains.

JRunner. a port and polish is done to the cylander head...but i would say that if you want new headers, get a p&p first...i mean, get a p&p anyway...its good for the engine. but a new header is good too. get both...
and then...for Protek...i never said anything about 20-30hp out of the deal..if you want to rebuild your valvetrain you would be looking at somewhere around that figure...but that will cost a few more than 250....
to rebuild your head will probably cost you around $1200...its the damned camshafts...to expensive...what i would give for only needing one....heh j/k..

If the service doesn't ask the weight, gear ratios, tires, exhaust system, intake system, including ECU and injectors, cam profiles, static compression, ignition and timing, and altitude, typical humidity, average temperatures, where you live, type of driving you desire to "participate in", and emissions specifications, etc, you'll never get what you want.
