Whats this Noise???

Ok for a shorttime now... every once inawhile ill start my car or be stopped at a redlight and give it some gas(in neutral)... all the sudden i hear a tapping noise from inside the car.... i cant pinpoint where its comming from but i kno its not lifter tick or rods or pistons .. . b/c it only happens somtimes..... im thinking it may be the rear turbo.... But if it was wouldn't it make the noise all the time??? Anyone have any ideas?


Anyone kno how easy it is to remove the rear turbo? would i have to pull the engine or just remove the manifold?

It might just be the smallest exhaust leak. A small exhasut leak sounds like a tapping.

well i kno there is an exhaust manifold leak ..... but why would it just do it some times and why didnt it do it before?

It just might not be audible at all times.
