Camaro hatch lock

Hey. I got an 89 camaro and the wire that goes from the locking cylinder to the latch release snapped. I can goto the junk yard and get a new one But I cant figure out how to get the white plastic piece that holds the wire to the lock cylinder off. I looked in the manual and it doest say anything about it. I also cant find anything on the net about it. Please help me

Best suggestion is go to the jukyard and try it out on a few cars there. Why not just replace the enitre mechanism?

went to the junkyard they also dont know how to get the white piece off of the lock cylinder. I wanted to go just get a new one. But they dont make them anymore. It has to come from a junkyard. The one and only problem is the piece wont come off. I cant even see how its stuck on there. I know that It has to come off cuz you cant take the lock cylinder out unless its off.
