Hey I have a Dx hatch and it ain't THAT slow. I've never gotten "RAPED" by anything unless it was never designed to be in my league in the first place. If you're swapping then don't waste your money on this engine.

you could sell the civic, and buy a sports car - personally im a big fan of the nissan 300zx...or save up for an s2000.

i suggest you buy some other parts first to make the engine more durable before you port and polish. you shouldn't expect to see that much HP probably even lower than 5 HP. something about honda engine being so suck that it can't produce major increase in HP.

No actually it has something to do with the fact that the 1.5 liter is very small engine that was never designed to be a high performance engine.

why would you waste your money on an engine your going to swap out anyway? if you going to mod it in any way before the swap get something that is interchangeble with the two engines like maybe a cat back exhaust
what engine are you going to swap in?
good to see somebody who is actually doing some performance sh$t to his car instead of wasting money on an ugly (and heavy) bodykit
and btw dreemkill how could somebody with a 92 civic dx afford an s2000? not trying to be mean but at least say something helpful and realistic

i won't be able to afford one any time soon that's for damn sure. i guess i could get the exhaust and work on the suspension. my car already has springs what kind i don't know. i bought the car like a month ago and it already had them. do you think that koni non adjustable shocks would be good even though my car is dropped or do i need adjustables??
i'm going the get the jdm b16a2 with lsd

you probably won't need adjustables but they are nice to have if you go to the track or street race alot, it really depends on how often you race the car and what kind of budget your on.
if you go to the track or illegals often then its nice to have the adjustables because you can change from a softer setting for dragging to a firmer one for normal daily driving

1.) dont assume things. i drive a 92 CX, and i still drive a 92 CX even tho i can afford something else. (tho a nice VW GTi is looking tempting)
2.) my point exactly - a civic isnt a racecar. if you want a fast car, and want to "own" people, etc. - then buy a fast car - buy a sportscar. a civic is an economy car....if you want to make it perform better, etc. then go nuts - i know i do....but im not in it to race around the street trying to find idiots to drive fast next to.

look i really do not want to get into that entire economy car vs. sports car thing. i think part of the reason most people want to buy an economy car and make it fast is because of the CHALLENGE there is not much challenge in making an s2000 fast because its already fast stock whereas an economy car is slow stock so its more fun and more challenging IMO
i never said YOU could not afford an s2000 just because you drive an old model civic i just said that logically most people who buy a $3000 car would not be able to afford a $50 000 s2000 it just doesnt really make sense why you would by a $2000-5000 civic when you can afford a nice s2000 or something along those lines, unless you plan to dump $40 000 into the modifications to make an all out drag car

calm down guys aren't you tired of seeing arguments on threads?? cuz i know that i am. about the adjustable thing. you an change the firmness of the shocks? is it that easy to change it? which ones would be good to get for a good price?

You adjust it with a flathead screwdriver on the top of the shock. And Koni's are the best for the price.

i saw this one dude invested $50,000 into a 97 civic HB, i still wonder why he did that when he could of use the money for a real car if his whole intention from the beginning is make a fast car.

How about not racing people that way you wont get beat. Don't drop a dime into the engine if you're doing a swap. Save your money and you'll be raping people quicker than Michael Jackon on Macaulay Culkin :D
