looking for a f/s truck

well the state of Michigan is selling 3 trucks, one 1992 Cheyenne 4x4 2500, with plow, link is here (http://www.bidcorp.com/auclist3.asp?lot=8343)

does it matter between the 2500 and the 1500? and why does it state that a 1500 has a 5.0 moter, i thought that was a ford moter? im hoping for input from anyone, all are at with od, anything i should look for that you guys know of? any problems spicific to those years? this is going to be a v-8 swapped into an s 10. so the trucks condition isnt to big of a deal, except my parting them out, thanks for any tips

Hey, Well if your just swapping the engine and stuff thats cool. There work trucks have been beat the shit out off. Nice trucks, I live in Michigan and am in need of some parts along with maybe the plow and lighting. Where you located at? Thats if you get a plow one.

over in muskegon (by grand rapids) the s 10 i have now was owned by the city of norton shores, beat to hell n dirty when i got it, complete tuneup, clean egr and stuff, good as new..... i was more looken for something like if the 92 has a bad ignition coil or something i will need to replace more then likely

The 5.0 engine your talking about is a H type engine, Its a 305. As far as old problems like that go all trucks have it. You will just have to go threw it and check it out its probally a solid engine if it has been took care of by a city being they have pretty good mechanicall staff. I had the chance to buy a old school district truck with a plow and whatnot and it had pretty low miles but they drove it to hell and back. If you do get one drop me a line you dont live to far from me and i would be intrested in buying some of the parts off of you.

well, i know i dont want the 305, ive had searious trouble with them damn things lol, yeah, if i get funding, ill drop ya a line, wont be looking for much from it, ill probly take the rear end, ill keep my tranny if it still works, swap it over to the other truck and if you dont want/need parts anymore ill sell the truck complete with the 4.3 in it, otherwise it will be all part out and my extras
