maybe somebody can help me out. i have a 91 rs camaro and for some reason the motor that pulls the trunk down after you shut it has stopped working. the trunk still locks but it isn't getting pulled down anymore. anybody know what the problem might be?

First place to start would be to check and make sure that the motor is getting power to it, both enough volts and amps. If it is getting power, check the ground. If both are good, then the motor may have just gone bad.

Well, not really. The pull down isn't the whole way down, you close the hatch (gently) until you hear/feel the latch catch, then the motor on the latch pulls the hatch down to a fully seated position. The pull down is a pain, it uses nylon/plastic guides for the moving latch and they wear out, the motor isn't especially powerful (same one used on the caddy's trunk lid) and the activation switch isn't adjustable, so if it wears..you're stuck.

Not really, not all of the 3rd gens have it, but the ones that do always have problems.

You can buy them at your parts store for like 12 bucks. I had to replace mine on my 91 rs about 2 years ago.

It's not a motor as such it's a solenoid. Cadillac has had then forever and they are relatively cheap and easy to replace.
