New 20006 Eclipse looks like...

This isnt even funny. I just checked out detailed videos and pictures of the new 06 Eclipse. And holy SHIT does it look a lot like the Scion Tc. this is ridiculous!! ARRGGHHHHH!!!.

Speaking of the 06 eclipse, I saw one out this past Friday, I was making a left turn after just spending 4 hours detailing my car, this dude pulled up in a silver 4th gen and started to star at my car. I guess he was amazed at how clean it is :grinno: :grinno: and also jealous that he doesn't have a 2g. But when he drove away, from far, the profile looks a lot like the 2g than the 3g.

I didn't know the 4th gens are out, but this dude was driving it, it did have manufacture plates on it though, I wanted to get out of the left turn lane and catch up with him, then this cop pulled up...

Yeah I guess if you're "IMPORTANT" or soemthing maybe you can get a hold of one. I remeber seeing some rx-8s alot eariler than when it came out

I think I saw an orangish one sunday on the highway, It looked alright I guess. I think I'll stick with my 2gen :smile:

No. I talked to a couple of dealers to see if they had the literature on them, and none did. They aren't expected to be out until the end of the year.

What u guys saw was probably a test driver because a month ago i saw this wierd looking Nissan hybrid suv which looked awsome but it had stickers everywhere on the car, ex: logo's and stuff.

I really like the cluster, i really dislike the lancer type nostrils

You might be right, but I just can't think of any reason they would need to test the car at Champaign, IL, where we have nothing but corn fields and the University of Illinois, with the number 1 basketball team in the nation :grinno: :grinno:

Looks like they shit-canned the electric motor in the rear, :) I didn't see it on the site.

If i have the money i would deffently buy one 263hp isn't too bad.. 650 Watt Stero system, Rockford Fosgates, not bad. Exterior is so so, Interior looks sweet. Overall i'd rate the car a 7 out of 10.. it shits on the 3g, but still doesn't come close to the 2g.

yeah, it does look 'nice', it just shouldnt resemble a SCION! arrgghhhhh. I wish they couldve just gone back to the 2G base design.

well the sad thing is mitsu is STILL trying to use a non turbo Frontwheel drive car...no offense but how is that supposed to compete with the new found love of RWD and AWD cars. not to mention the lack of hp. no wonder theyre going broke.

im not a big fan of the outside at all. fro aboev the car it looks like a wanna be porsche and from the back it looks like a scion - i also dont really like where they put the emblem like in the middle of the grill. i do kind of like the inside though and i bet that stereo system doesnt sound too bad either.

Atleast they are trying something different after the huge mistake they made of the 3g. It's better, but not good enough in my opinion.

Power: 8/10 (needs turbo!)
Tranny: 9/10 (6 speed manual, its about time)

Wheres the spoiler? I like the look of the 2g turbo spoiler. Gave it a nice round look.

I dunno, i've kinda grown fond of the look. If things go well for me and i get my internship, than i'll seriously consider financing a 2007 model (Don't really wanna go for the first model year). Who knows, maybe they'll spontaneously decide to pull the awd drivetrain off the Endeavor and somehow modify it for the eclipse, and make that available. :p Yeah, i know, not happening. Call me crazy, but i'm seriously considering a 2007 GT.

yeah i saw one of these too, it doesnt look anything like the eclipse should IMO. it looks kinda gay

BTW i dont know why people hate the look of the 3g so much. i like it almost as much as the 2g and better than the 1g and current g.

No offence but it seems to me like people think its cool to hate the 3g or somethin

i just dont like how the 3g looks, i mean id love to have a 6cyl engine in my 2g. i just dont like how the body looks flat on the bottom and i cnat stand those fin things in the door. it just seems to me that elcipse went from a catchy goodlooking body with nice curves - to a flat bottomed almost boring looking car. just my opinion on the 3g

i understand the 3g a little if u blur your eyes from afar it still looks like the eclipse 2g, but yeah i dont like the flatness and the sketchy lines...aside from my complaining about the lack of drivetrain..i was really let down there wasnt even the "e-boost" feature, hybrid cars kinda take the fun out of things and the prototype of the 4g had a cool little feature where it used the electronic drive to add hp kinda like a turbo...making a hybrid atleast somewhat attractive. oh well atleast this thing got me my FF wins in Gt-4 with ease. =P
