Anyone used TS-30 Silver as a base coat and then used TS-71 over the top to make a type of gun metal?
Just thinking of colour for my new project, and so far I've got the favs listed as -
Mica Red
Mica Blue - for bayside blue
Or silver and smoke..!!
Not sure really.. The car is going to be a Skyline with a N style SAS body kit installed, not sure about the wing yet.. Perhaps the same colour as the body..!!

Test it on something first. I've got an old revell diablo body that I use to try new paint ideas. Its got so many different colours on it, it looks like I sprayed it during some funky acid trip ;)
From my experience though things overcleared with smoke tend to get a brown tint. It'll probably be more like a light candy brown instead of gunmetal. :D
For a gunmetal finish I use Gunze Super Metallic Stainless Steel with plenty of clearcoat. If its not clearcoated it just looks like bare metal. But I think its looks alot better than say Tamiya Gunmetal Lacquer. Don't be afraid to use metallizers as body colours.

I get mine from Hobbyworld. However Alclad works just as well and its a lot easier to get. I suggest Dark Aluminium or Magnesium and Steel if you want a good Gunmetal.
