i was recently looking at the new nissian sport coupe concept http://www.supercars.net/cars/2005@$Nissan@$Sport%20Conceptx.html

One of the pics on the inside has a PSI gauge so that means turbo. I'm assuming since this will be the rival to the civic we are looking at a 4cylinder. The Sr20det is the only 4cy turbo nissian engine i know of. So does nebody know if this engine meets japan's new emissions laws? If not then we know it won't make it into the car. Thanks

well i read somewhere that its a 2.5 L turbo which would most likely rule out the SR and the CA.

and actually i think the SR and CA are both long gone in terms of stuff nissan is going to use, probably just because of emissions. they are probably gonna bust out something new (i hope so)

They still use a 270HP SR in a SUV :dunno:


2.5 would either be the RB25 Neo or a VQ... either would rock.

Or maybe it will jsut be a new 2.5 Liter! and not a RB or a VQ

well, the boost gauge doesnt mean turbo necessarily, nissan has three new motors for the concept silvia that could be used are vg20, vg23, and vg23s, the vg23s is the 2.3L supercharged v-6, and thats most likely the motor that will be the fore-runner for the small concepts, since the 2.5 in the sentra has had problems. That car looks sweet, if only it was like the clio, and had mid-engine...

I think u can see the Renault styling. The Rb is out of the question last i herd nissian had comfirmed that that engine was over with due to its REALLY BAD falaure at the emissions. The VQ i doubt b/c it is a 6 cylinder and nissian wants this to compete with the civics so they are going most likley giong with a 4 cylinder. I would also like to see some new kind of a 4 cylinder.

First off, it front wheel drive, shifter is located oddly if u havent noticed, looks like a murano IMO.

Where have u seen its front wheel drive? Nissian hasn't siad nething bout the drive train.
