the title pretty much explains what i want to know. i have a 92 civic with a hydro tranny. where would i start? i figure i need to tear apart the console. i had a short shifter installed in my 86 accord but i really dont want to have to pay for it if it's easy, as long as i dont have to pull the tranny i'll be ok! thanks guys, PRASAP!

In the immortal words of superbluecivicsi: SEARCH
If you don't have the time to do a search, then you don't have the time to install it yourself.

i came here to get a damn answer! just because there are a few different threds about this doesnt mean mine is the same, this forum is about helping people. dont be so lame and help a brother out!

Yes it does mean yours is the same. Every '92-'95 short shifter install is the same. Try to help yourself first before you ask for help. Do a search for "install short shifter" in the '92-'95 forum. If you can't do a search on your own then you're just too damn lazy to get help. It's people like you that are lame, that can't spend a max of 10 minutes trying to look for an answer. And you're right, these forums are here to help people. But you can easily help yourself if you took the time to search. And there aren't just a few different threads, there are tons of them and if you actually took the time to search then you'd know that.

short shifter isnt that hard at all. if you need instructions for this then i would suggest having a shop install all your future mods.

i installed my short shifter without any instructions, i just looked and figured it out.

i find it sad that some of you feel the need to be forum nannys. "do a search, wa wa waaaa..."

this forum crawls along at a snail pace anyhow, so quit it already with the whiny sore nipples routine.

if you have enough time to be a jerk, then you have enough time to just answer the dudes question. cripes.... :loser:

Or... if he has enough time to ask a question and comment about people telling him to search, then he has enough time to search himself.

does it make you feel good to be like that? srsly? why do you care so much if someone just asks a question without searching? again, if this forum moved any faster than a slow crawl, i could see your point, but its the slowest forum ever, so whats the deal? if you dont want to answer a persons question, fine. but who does it benifit to be a forum nanny?? you? him? me?....

Sanocivic, if you had been a member here longer than I would say that you have the right to comment on that topic, but you have been a member here for a month at the most. How could you possibly know nearly as much as the members like CivicSpoon and me, we have been here for a long, long time. We have seen that question come up at least 60 times, it gets very redundant to say the least. Also if this forum moves so slowly, than that is even more of a reason to search for the answer rather than just post a thread asking. He would have had his answer within minutes or he may have not gotten it at all by asking such a common question. The search feature is there for a reason.

the time i have been a member here is completly irrelavant. i have been here long enough to see who likes to bitch and complain like whiny little girls about forum "prorocols", and its usually the same suspects, every time.

tell me, grandma, can i set my soda down here wihout a coaster too? :loser:

anyhow, instead of just being a dick to you, (like i normally would) i will also provide a very good reason why being all bitchy about searches is wrong and stupid and a waste of your time, as well as everyone elses. (and bandwidth come to think of it...)

i did a search for a question about headlight removal, "jdm ing" (painting black) and re installation. and what i found seemed helpful on the surface, however once i got into it at home, i realized that the answers to my headlight questions werent all covered in the search i did. like for example, the way NO ONE bothered to say anywhere, about how you HAVE to get rid of all the old sealant (out of the headlight rim) in order to re-seal it correctly. if i would have asked about this, like i thought of (but didnt b/c of the search patrol's possible wrath) doing with a thread, perhaps i could have saved myself some extra work. but no, i didnt start a thread, b/c of you nanny whiners constantly crying about "do a search" and so on...so i had to do it twice.

you see, sometimes just doing a search isnt helpful enough, nor does it always cover every new bit of possible insight into old topics.

so cowboy up, and be a man for christs sakes. who cares if some noob asks the same dumb questions, over and over? if you dont like it, simply dont respond. i doubt this forum is an any danger of being overrun... :disappoin

You're a moron, if you have a specific question that wasn't answered in your search then ask the damn question. even if people come in here telling you to search usually there is one person that will answer it anyhow, or do what Whtteg did and do the work for your lazy ass.

arguing with people who have been members for 3+ years is not a good way to get help around here...just a pointer, they're helping you in the long run.
