Here are some pics of my first mod to my "new" car. I don't have the cash yet to do some real mods but I had to do something :)
I had my engine cleaned professionally and I painted the valve cover, it all looks like new! I can really recommend to paint the valve cover, pretty easy and it looks like new. But most of you guys here have pretty new cars so I don't think your covers look so bad as mine did...
It didn't came out exactly the way I wanted (the color red came out a bit to bright for my taste) but it looks pretty good, wadda ya say? :)

Oh yeah, I painted the heatshield too :)
And does this make me a ricer for going for the red "Type R" look? If so :finger:

And no this does not make you a "ricer" LOL
This just makes you say "mmmmm, Honda" heheh :D

Looks good with the 'repaint' , It's kind of 'red' red but not wrong at all.

Thanks guys,
At first I wanted to paint it black again but the stock paint is a bit wrincled (sp) and I couldn't find that kind of paint anywhere and I didn't want a glossy black cover, so red it was :)
BTW, what do you think my first "real" must be: lowering or an exhaust setup? I think I'm leaning more to lowering first but I'm not quite sure yet..

Definately lowering first. I remember when I had my car lowered for the first time and I couldn't believe the difference it makes in looks and ride.

Alrighty, so lowering it is :)
I think I will just get some springs first to get rid off that huge wheel gap (it's like 7cm or so now) and later on some Koni's yellows.

Thanks, I used caliper spray paint so that it would be heat resistant.
It's not a caliper but it got the job done :)

Lowering first imo. If I now see the pics of my car without the lowering...eeks what a gap. (and now i want it lower again, but €€€€)
What I've heard of a professional paint company in my neighbourhood there isn't a need for heat resistant paint for brake painting or engine cover painting. But I would go for 'sure' also if I wanted to paint mine or that company has to take the 'risk'.

Yeah, valve covers don't get extremely hot but my local car shop told me that if you use normal paint that the paint can fade a little afer a really long trip (500km+). I don't know if that's true because usually these people don't know shit but just to be on the safe side I used high temp paint.

right, you can better be on the safe side.
and most tuning shop no shit, right, everything gives more power according to them, the more expensive, the more power :D.
I saw yesterday a rear muffler for €1100 !!!! only the 'little' rear section!!! but well, whatever.

Same here- I would like to go lower (I lowered my car about 4cm) but I dont do it because of the streets here- I wont like it if I cannot drive more than 25kph due to the streets, and 4 is enuff for me :)

I would lower it first with a good spring/shock/strut bar combination because A) it´ll look much better and B) your car will handle much better. Personally I´m not even going to buy a new exhaust system in the future....
