Hello everybody,
I have a vw golf 1.4, mk3 (1993) k reg.
My problem:
I start my car and it runs fine for first mile or so, then the revs drop to zero and it cuts out! It starts back up first time, but the revs won't hold up and unless i keep my foot on the pedel, the revs drop to zero again. This happens for the next five miles or so, then its fine and the revs return to normal... Strange thing is, this doesn't happen all the time just completly random!
Could anybody help? has this happended to you or any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Sarah

I don't know if you have gotten an answer yet... My thought is it could be your coilpacks!

Yo- I just had the same prob in my 94 1800 singlepoint injection golf. did you let it run low on petrol/gas?. it could be grit inthe fuel pump. take off the cover, then the screw ring seal, and give it a knock, or bang on the bottom of the tank.
Alternatively, it could be the heavy rubber throat that the injector assembly sits on could be perished or split- move the assembly around to see if it gives...
