I shouldn't believe every prophecy I hear, but I just saw this show on TLC called the bible code. It explained how the hebrew bible was being translated with this mathematical formula that turns some matrixes in "crossword" puzzles. They find words in each of these, and make these revelations. It also tells of past happenings. It's really wierd but it scares the shit outta me. A few highlights from what I've read.
Bush is the Devil is stated several times
Rome will be hit by a Meteor in 2006
Yellowstone Eruption
Earthquakes
Nuclear Holocaust
A lot more revelations that are just as scary and interesting
Comet hitting the Earth in 2012. It predicts only 125 million will be left in the entire world in 2016.
4,000,000,000 people will die after the comet hits as a result of 2006 happenings and up. 2,000,000,000 more will die from affects of the comet.
All the shit is suppose to start arround 2006 check it out for yourself THE BIBLE CODE (http://exodus2006.com/3code.htm)

take ANY book and use the same mathematical formula, and you're bound to get the exact same results. I use to visit www.bibledecoded.com but stopped caring when God decided to postpone the apocalypse 4 years. :grinno: Not to mention that only the Jehova's Witnesses will be picked to survive, so i guess i'm screwed anyways.

Interesting to look at, but it looks like they picked characters to make their messages. The crossword analogy doesn't seem to work; some of the Bush messages used scattered letters from across the screen.
Somebody spent an awful lot of time doing that...

This is an old, old routine of trying to see patterns in the Bible, using numerology etc. Literally, people have been doing it for hundreds of years.
Guess what? They all have been wrong, or so vague as to have meant almost anything.
Doing this kind of stunt has no credibility.

I don't believe in the "Bible code". Besides..there are enough prophesies in the Bible that aren't coded that have happened. I agree with dirtydx on this one as far as being able to do the same with just about any book.

I have seen that show before. It is kinda scarry if you think about it. I truley think that bush is the devil. When you are married to a conspiery theoriest, you begain to believe a lot of shit. Eric will come home and tell me something off the wall, I am like OK. Then he pulles out the evedince and it freaks me out. Call me crazy but I believe in all that stuff.

He may not be the devil but he sometimes does a pretty good imitation of him.

Seen the shows, care to tell me in what part of either episode did it say Bush is the devil?
I remember them associating Bin Laden with anti-christ. But I know that wasn't on there.

Read my link up top if you want to know the prophecies I.E. Bush is the devil. I'm partially sold on it because of the odds, but I'll wait till things start happening that are in the bible code to fully believe it. I actually don't like to think about the world ending just forget about, and enjoy life while you can.

Glad you didnt get insulted by my thought.
I find the Bible Codes extremely interesting. I also think there could be an error from the sheer differences in whom is doing the matrices. Kinda hard for me to believe, while its intrigueing to think about the future, I don't want to know it.
I agree, enjoy life.

I also decided to read a few things on opposing the bible code. The people who oppose have great arguements too.

What I've noticed from only a little bit of searching the Bible Code is marketed all over the web. It's almost as if it's just to make money book sales etc. Now that I've read both sides to a small extent I've come to the conclusion that whatever happens happens fuck it. It's too much work to bother with prophecy. :)

Why do people believe that the Bible is some sort of absolute truth? You could take any old book and through problems with translations turn it into meaning something crazy. The bible isnt a book that flew down from heaven one day. It is a book written by men about 350AD. They are all stories that were written down based on some peoples translations of other peoples writings. Religious leaders of that time took certian quotes and filled in details of what they thought should be in there.
Basicaly what I am trying to say is quit beliving any of this crap. This has about as much relevance as someone doing the same thing to your 10th grade history book.

That depends on which side of the fence you are standing on.
The word believe in your sentence is key.
You could take any old book and through problems with translations turn it into meaning something crazy
There is no problems with translations in the Bible for the most part. That is just a myth.
. The bible isnt a book that flew down from heaven one day. It is a book written by men about 350AD.
Earlier than that actually.
They are all stories that were written down based on some peoples translations of other peoples writings. Religious leaders of that time took certian quotes and filled in details of what they thought should be in there.
Sorry. That's not true. It has been proven to be the most accurate of all ancient manuscripts.

Try reading it and really looking into the history of the writtings and the prophesies. I think you would be suprised. If nothing else it is a great insight on how people lived and thought in those days. Don't get a King James version though. Even though it sounds poetic with all the thees and thous it's sometimes hard to follow.

Actually the date of the Constantines council meeting to write the bible dates around 325AD where they really did take writings that were basicaly quotes written down by deciples, not full stories, and they created stories out of them.

I should have been more specific, I didnt mean that towards the bible I ment it towards the bible code stuff. I have read the bible
You should do some reserch on how the bible came to be, it really makes you think twice about the writings in it. Dont get me wrong I think its a great book that teaches many valuable things there are just a lot of strange things about it and the history of Jesus that make you question a lot of things that you are taught in church. For example there are writings almost EXACTLY like those about Jesus about a man named Ma_____something I cant remember, but his name translated into Jesus Christ and almost everything recorded about him was exactly the same as Jesus as we know him, even down to the last supper, crusifiction(sp?) and rising from the dead, its really wierd. If you do reserch it make sure you keep an open mind to both sides of the argument though so you dont come off sounding like an ass like I did in my previous post :)

You are referring to when it cannonized (I think that's the word I am looking for). That was when they took all the ancient manuscripts and alot of the letters and stories and teachings from the apostles and Christ and decided what was to go into the actual book. Most of the biiks of the Bible were written long before that date and nearly all of them can be backed up with ancient scrolls and artifacts that have been discovered since then.I should have been more specific, I didnt mean that towards the bible I ment it towards the bible code stuff. Misunderstanding. No big deal. You should do some reserch on how the bible came to be, it really makes you think twice about the writings in it.I have done a lot of study on that topic.

You didn't come off that way. I am always interested in learning new things about Christianity and other religions. I didn't start out as a Christian and really had my doubts about it as well as other religions. When I began looking into it I tried to have an open mind about all of them and I still try and stay that way. It's not always easy because I have been a Christian for a number of years now and I imagine my view on the matter is somewhat biased. I try and remember that how I feel about my beleifs is the same as how others feel about theirs.

Well, I believe if you asked an orthodox Jew about that they would give quite a different answer. You see Jews have been following the teachings of the Old Testament for thousands of years. Thousands.
