Was just wondering what you guys thought of this filter. I installed my new intake and now my greddy filter doesn't fit so I need a new one. Would it bolt right up to the MAS or would I need an adapter?

I was also thinking about this K&N but I dont really want to pay for a shiny metal part that no one can see.

And one more I was considering.

Why don't you just go with the K&N FIPK?

Because the FIPK is $130. And that's about $100 more than it should be.

Hooooooold on. I just searched tuners and found this post http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161770&highlight=FIPK which says you can get the FIPK w/out adapter for $35 form Autozone! That means K&N charges $100 for this:

Slowboy also has just the filter replacement for $55. http://www.slowboyracing.com/intake/K_N/2g/2g_K_N.html
Does anyone know if that includes everything in this picture or is it just the actual filter element or something?

the first ebay filter sucks because once it goes bad you have to buy a new maf adaptor. i just posted about a guy selling adaptors for like 15 bucks on ebay. the k&n filter can be bought at autozone with a rubber top for 30 bucks. then all you do is build a bracket to support it. heres how i did it. you cant really see in the pic but the bracket is simply bolted onto the two bottom bolts holding the adaptor to the maf. (i didnt really like the idea of bolting the bracket to the top of the filter)

Those ebay filters are safe though right? Does anyone have any experience with them? Can they be cleaned and oiled like the K&N?

I posted on tuners in that thread about this but how could the FIPK work with the round adapters like in my pic above if the FIPK isn't round?

ebay member: vtechondas or
http://www.procarparts.com/store-list2.asp?currentPage=1&Action=GotoPage&GotoPage=2&makerID=24&modelID=132&year=1995&cat=5&sub=39 a place joewagon got his from. the fipk or whatever is a big waste of money. if you are willing to compromise your engine, then use the ebay filter. im sure it wont hurt. however if your like me, go buy a $30 k&n filter and be done with it.
