well, i just raced in my first solo autocross event and had a great time... i didnt do too bad, but could ahev done ALOT better. now, i raced in the HS (H stock) class and couldnt stand how loose my car felt. i was wondering if anyone knew of the specific things i could do to my car and stay in the stock class. i know rims and tires are okay and suspenion is alright as long as its the same as the original or Koni's. anyone know of anything elsei could do to help my car run through better without changing classes? thanks in advance.

ya, you can't get rims bigger than the 16's that were optional on GS's. You can change the shocks to anything you want but have to leave the springs and bars. You can also do Polyurethane bushings.

make sure that your balljoints and lower control arm bushings are good. mitsu has safety recalls on both of these which means the dealership has to fix it for free.

yea if you want to stay in a stock class you have to be carfull what you mod because i have only uicp and a boostcontroller and i was bumped up to STX so i was going up against cars with just about everything you can mod to a car, which sucked. everyone in my class was running around a 46.XX and my best time of the day was a 48.3X and i was running better times than almost 80% of the cars that were out there. O well i guess i will have to mod the CRAP out of my car now :iceslolan

AutoX is a great, its almost 90% driver so it shows off your skills WAY more than dragracing. Just work on your driving skills, keep looking ahead and get some sticky tires, you will be able to watch your times drop after doing that

with that boost controller you actually should have been in SM, not STX

back to the original question, 17's would bump you up to STS, which is a much faster class and is mainly civics, neons, and sentras with a few motor bolt ons and almost complete suspension upgrades and 15" or 16" rims with Falken Azenis tires.
