Door Chime

What are the possible causes for a 97 Crwn Vic door chime to continue to sound with the key removed? The sound is generally steady but will occasionally not occur or beep eradicately

is this with the door open or closed

door chime sounds with the door open, lights off, & no key in the ignition.....

There is a wire on the key cylinder that usually causes this. You can remove key cylinder and disconnect and tape wire or chase down the problem area in the vehicle.
