Hi guys, first post
Having a unusual front end noise when I let off the gas at 60mph.This noise will continue untill I have coasted to 50mph then it goes away. If I give it gas the sound goes away, it like putting a load on the problem. I have read numerous article about wheel bearings and half shafts and even went to a mechanic and was hoping he would HEAR and FEEL what I felt. He said nothing seems bad except he could hear that the front struts need replaced. The sound sure puzzles me.
My daughter uses this car for college and she hear's it also .I don't hear the noise change driving the car side to side for wheel bearing problem and the mechinic says the half shaft would be make clicking noice if it were going bad. The car has 150k.
I thought about taking the car to another mechanic for strut replacement and see if he could notice anything.
Anything that you might suggest would be appreciated.

hmm
describe the noise a little more in detail please.
did your mechanic check EVERY motor mount?
cv could be it?
describe the noise better if possible.

The mechanic just drove the car down a back country road. He didn't take the car out on a smooth highway like I ask him to do and he didn't look underneath the car at all.
The sound I'm hearing has a slight roar and it does vibrate some thru the
steering wheel. If the cruise is on you don't hear the noise. If you tap on the brake to disengage the cruise you hear it.It's very noticeable between 60 and quits at 50 mph. The wheels are balance, the car does not drift side to side. I did the brakes last year with new rotors and calipers. It's possible that the rotor are warped slightly or the caliper is sticking and just at that speed the sound going thru the floor pan like I have drive tran problem, even though I don't feel warped rotors at slower speeds. If it was the wheel bearing would it have a grinding sound all the time ? I'm thinking it may be the cv like you said and it's develope free play when it doesn't have a load on it . This is a 94 with all the orginal bearings ,cv and struts so I'll look at the motor mounts like you suggested. Knowing my luck if I replaced the bearings, and cv I'll still have the same problem.
Thankyou!
