Replace factory manual hubs with aftermarket

On my 95 tacoma I wanted to replace the difficult factory hubs with new superwinch hubs. I took the old hubs off and put the new hubs on, everything lined up perfectly except the drive shaft does not stick out far enough to engage with the splines on the hubs. I checked and the hubs are the correct ones for my model. Does anybody know anything about this???

Does anybody have aftermarket hubs on their 95 tacoma? Which ones actually work? (Mile Marker? Warn?) Superwinch claims they fit but they are not working.
