that "other" car ran a 10 second 1/4. no shit it was "modded to heck".

Getting beat by an ugly car like that would make me want to :apuke: or

Especially if I was driving a $30,000(?) Supra

Audiobahnman

It was a TT supra, it ran a respectable 12.4. The POS has a TT VR4 engine with way too much shit done to it. I'd still rather have the Supra though.

i would rather have the k-car, supras are ugly. Supra's remind me of fat chicks

So that thing is a chrysler from what it looks like. He swapped a vr4 engine it? Lots of work i say!

cybercrx00

Are you sure he did a engine swap, because I have seen a caravan with the chrysler turbo 4 cylinder in it that was running 11's or 12's, so the same engine in a lighter vehicle should be able to get 10's?

OMFG:eek:!

Wow. I'd take that POS over the Supra in that situation. Though I love Supras, I am a huge fan of sleepers. Imagine how a Viper owner would feel getting beat by that, or a C5 Corvette owner or most importantly, how would Blackbird feel:D?

MadDog06
03-28-2002, 01:18 PM
WOW! oh wow. that had to be embarassing for the supra driver, though i would take that supra over that little POS anyday. Yeah i like the sleeper effect, but i'd still like a respectable looking sleeper... the supra losing was not as bad, i guess, as the video of the Ferrari getting beat by the civic hatch. now that was some craziness.

SickLude
03-28-2002, 08:59 PM
Now that was respectable. And it was really funny too, although a 10 sec quarter, like Drift said, was the reason. still high comedy.

That was a viper not a ferrari. And it lost because the driver was baaaaddd.

Actually, that's not the reason. The Civic driver used to be a member on the old ph, his handle was St00pid, and he was somewhat of a friend of mine as well. His car was modded to heck, and was pushing 24 lbs. of boost. He won that race because his car was flat out FASTER than the Viper, not because he was so much better at racing than the Viper driver was.

What kind of mods did he have? And I still think the viper driver was bad. If I remember right he had a very bad start spining quite a bit his tires. But after that it looked like he started to catch up.

How do you guys not know what a K car is? Maybe you guys didn't get them in the states. But they are all over the place here in Canada. Its a Plymouth and its called a Relient K or Aries. I'm sure you guys have them.

st00pid's car(the Civic in the vid) ran 10's in the quarter on an official track(for those of you that have been here since PH, correct me if I'm wrong...especially you, Self). The Viper had bolt-on mods(i.e., headers, exhaust, etc.) which at best, would bring the Viper to mid-high 11 second territory. I have seen the video, and st00pid's car did quite a bit of spinning itself...

As for his mods, I remember he had a VERY large turbo on either a b18 or an h22(Self?).

the viper would always spin the tires in a drag (if they dont have tcs). cause the car is a sheet of fiber glass with a killer engine. so mostly everyone could beat a viper off the line, but better have some mods. to keep themselves up front till the end. :bandit:

No it was a GSR engine that had been resleeved and totally done up with as you said large amounts of boost. Dynoed at 400hp and around 340 lb/ft of torque.

Which is why he should have choosen the H22 in my opinion, for the extra what, 100 pounds in overall weight gain -- with 28 pounds of boost on the H22 he probably would be dynoin like 600hp , well minus your drivetrain loss :D

I never said anything about the fucking hatch "owning" ...

I said for the work he did, he should have just went with the H22 for the same amount if not a little less, and with 28 pounds of boost he would have been running like 600hp @ the crank. :D

In a top-speed race, yes, since the Viper(stock) tops out at 192MPH. In a quarter-mile, against the particular Civic he was against, with equal drivers, NEVER.

As a matter-of-fact, in most RWD versus FWD races, it's the FWD that does the catching-up.

Nope, he can easily do that on the stock 2.2L I4. I have seen people with my car get 9s in the 1/4. Chalk another one up for the LeBarons. Haha. :p

But then again, we have a lot of migrants from Canada here...especially old ones, who most likely will drive a car like the Reliant:p.

Well they had different names for those K bodied cars hence the name K car. They were as follows; K, Aries, Relient, and LeBaron.

What do you have to do to the engine to get the turbo at 28lbs of boost. How low is the compression ratio

Heavily reinforce the engine with sleves new pistons new valves etc very importantly tune it properly.

After you do all that you have to change the crankshaft and transaxle so they can take the new HP.

Polygon
04-03-2002, 04:25 PM
You would also need to run around 8:1 compression ratio to keep from blowing the head clean off. :D

I have never seen them live, I like them though. Are you into any other Christcore bands? Have you heard of Slick Shoes, Stavesacre, or any other bands like that?

Oh and mellowboy, I didn't think about the fact that Plymouth is a freakin' American car company. What are they called over here, cause I don't recall seeing any... EVER.

Actually, I've talked to that guy before. It isn't a 3KGT VR4 motor.
It is infact a Dodge Shelby Turbo motor. It's got a HUGE turbo, gutted interior, and it's basically a flat out race car. Pretty cool ugly little thing that sure would surprise the hell outta be when he beat me.

I do agree that I'd rather have the Supra though.
