Gap Filling (Read The FAQ. Special Case)

As my camera quality is not sharp enough to take the details, i decided to draw the thing out. Sorry for the lousy illustrations and small pics. do not have any program to resize this.
Btw this kit is Fujimi's Spoon Civic Type R

From the picture, you can see that the sunroof clear part does not fit into the hole in the clear windscreen part. The problem is that I took the hole in the clear windscreen part as a guide to cutting my hole. Thus, the hole was too big for the clear sunroof part.

Drew up a cross-section pic to show the problem. The problem is. I would like to fill it up and I tried epoxy and basic putty but fail. (do not know method of filling with putty. dont know which putty to use. failed during this first attempt at using putty.) The problem is I need to take out the clear part out so i can sand the putty down. I would also need to paint the black rubber trimmings on the sides of the sunroof that is protruding. 2ndly, I did not know whether to take the clear part out or to keep it in place while waiting for the putty to dry. Was afraid that the clear part will be stuck to the putty when it dries. But when I try to take the clear sunroof part out, the putty get stretches and loses its form.

Been staying up for quite a few nights trying to salvage it to no avail. Thus, hope to gain some help, direction, tips etc here.

Some strip styrene should fix the problem.

Can you post a bigger drawing, so we can read the text?
From what I can decipher, you can either shrink the whole with styrene, as GTMike suggested, or you can make a new sunroof from Lexan or acetate.

tried to increase the size but its the same =(

Best fix IMO would be to use the sunroof part as a template to make a surround to fit the gap, carefull painting and no one will know the difference. The other alternative would be thick acetate to make a whole new sunroof.

tried to put the clear sunroof part in place and used putty to fill up the gap. (i think if i use styrene would have to cut a bigger hole cos the sides are slightly rounded and the cut not straight.
but i can't remove the clear sunroof part b4 it dries because the putty gets stretches while getting some parts stuck on the sunroof and loses its shape...
and i think the sunroof clear would better much be stuck there like a styrene skeleton if i leave the putty to dry completely

nah really you could just find an old windshield and cut out a bigger sunroof out of that if your carefull...

Another vote for sheet styrene. Just glue some on so the hole is a bit smaller than you need, then trim back slowly to the right size.

alrite will try it. no point me looking at the replies and try to picture it in my head and not doing anything rite? will post results/questions after tryin it out and cracking my head.
