Replacement 4wd actuator, '96 Suburban

I am in the process of installing the up-dated 4wd actuator on my Suburban & the TSB says to splice the brown wire off the new harness to the brown wire off the rear switch on the transfer case. On the rear switch on mine there is a purple & a green. I had heard that you can find out which one to go to by checking for voltage when in 4wd but neither has any. Anyone have any idea which one it is? BTW there are 3 plugs going to the case, a 6 wire, a 3 wire & the 2 wire that I described. Any help would be appriciated.

The brown wire should be at the switch that is located on the drivers side of the t case just above the output shaft for the front end. The switch should have a brown wire, light blue wire, and a grey with black stripe

For some reason I have no power to that brown wire. Any ideas why? Is it on a fuse that may be bad? The light flashes on the 4wd switch but it will not engage. This is driving me nuts!!

The brown wire at the T-case switch should have power with the ignition on(as long as the 4x4 fuse is good and you have no other wiring problems between the fuse and switch). The light blue wire(also at T-case switch) should have power with ignition on and with the vehicle in a 4x4 mode(hi or lo)

Thanks for your help. I did not see a 4wd fuse but will get the tester out & start tracking that wire back.

Should be number 24 in the interior fuse panel, 25 amp

If that fuse was bad would I still hear the T-case solenoid & would the light on the switch still function?

The T-case has its own fuse and the lights on the buttons are powered from the gages fuse

Sure as shootin'....#24 blown. Thanks Jeremy. Having power to the wire will no doubt make it an easy job. Just bought the rig & did not even know that panel was there. Oh well, that is why they call us "newbies" eh? LOL

Got it all done last night. It was a GREEN wire on the 3 wire plug. Thanks for your help.
