1G= no crank walk, better look's, sleeper status.
2G= crank walk, ricer platform, too much cheesy plastic interior.

1Gen has alot less chance of getting CW and doesn't have the sleaker body style...
2Gen has better chance of getting CW and has a more sleaker style...
How do you think that the 2gen is a ricer platform? Cheesy plastic interior?
All this coming from someone who has a 3gen? LMFAO The 3gen went the totally opposite way of performance and went RICEY if you ask me..
1st and 2nd gen turbos will own a 3gen ANY day... hell I had 140,000 on my old one and it stomped gs's and gts's quite a few times... and that was stock.. for the most part... Thats my :2cents:
Oh hey... BACK you do know that your avatar totally knocks yourself right? :screwy:

2g's have a greater chance of getting crankwalk because basically the motor isn't as durable as the older 1g 6bolts were. Mitsu went with a 7bolt crank in some of the 1g's and all of the 2g's. These are the motors that are more likely to get cw. Really any motor can cw, though. One of the theorys behind 7 bolt cw is because of poor oil circulation. There are other theorys also. There are certain steps to take to help prevent getting cw sooner. Like useing full synthetic oil, disconnectiong clutch start switch, etc.

thank you for the info on the crank walk.
Now I have a hard choice beacuse I want a 2gen but I dont want to have the cw problem. but I dont like the look of the older modle. I suposse I will have to look around and see what I think about bolth modles.
it's to bad that the 2nd gen's have that problem
well thank all of you for the help, it will be alittle time yet antil I buy a talon. I will have to tell you guys when I get it. again thanks
P.s go ahead and keep writhing to this thread case I like to hear others opions about this

Basically no redeeming attributes. I'll take my AWD "ricer platform" and "cheesy plastic interior" and spank you silly with it, assclown. :loser:
Lostmypicks, if you want pure speed, buy a 1g. If you want more expensive speed and looks, buy a 2g. If you want to look like a piece of fagbait and accelerate like a greyhound bus, buy a 3g.[/QUOTE]
lol There are no 3G TSI's. The last Talons to roll out of the factory were in 98 but you're right, 1G's are better for performance money wise though I like the interior of the 2G's. lol At the last part of your post.
97 GSTSpyder's correct.

I would NOT automatically associate 2Gs with crankwalk. While more likely than on 1Gs, its still quite rare. And this is coming from someone that lost 3 motors to it. ;)
Also, I have both a 1g and a 2g, and the 1g is far cheezier than the 2g. I dont like it at all. I bought it for a daily driver, but I havent driven it in weeks. It just feels so... Old.
:D
Edit> Why the fuck to I keep forgetting the 'nt on half of the words in my posts, basically writing the exact opposite of what I am trying to say. WTF.

The 1G has been known to be a lot better for performance, and most people would equate the 2G to better looks.
Yes the 1G does seem old sometimes, but that is because it probably is, however I love to drive mine.
Parts are a little more difficult to find for the 1G's, but that applies mostly to exterior modifications (at least in my experience).
I like my 1G, when I drove a 2G, I found that it just felt big and kind of bulky. The interior (to me) seemed to "fake", not sure if that is the right word or not.

I was actually just trying to piss off the dickwad with the 3g Eclipse who came in here and started talking shit, otherwise I would have done what everyone else does with the 3g Eclipse: ignore it. ;)
lol I just realized that.. I read through the posts too quick.
