97 Escort Error Code

Got Checker Auto Parts to do a diagnostic after the "service engine soon" light came on and got an error code of P303. the report says a misfire on cylinder 3.

Any ideas on how to procede?

I am going to replace plugs and check wires first.

Will the light go out if this is the fix?

Misfire codes will clear themselves if the computer no longer detects a misfire after a certain period of time so if you repair the problem it should reset. I would replace the wires and plugs to see if that caused the problem but I would have the code cleared to see if it comes back which would mean that your repair did not work and you will need to look somewhere else. Don't forget to check the wiring to the injector on that cylinder.
