Installing a Short Throw Shifter

Hey i have a 96 teg and i just bought a short throw shifter and wanted to kno how to install it. I heard u have to drop the exhaust to put it on. some people told me it was hard and other told me it was easy.

It is kinda easy. I have them on every car i own. You don't have to drop the ex, but it may make it easyer. Get some new bushings too.

First jack up the car and suport it on stands. Take off your shift knob. Get under the car and you will see the 2 bars that go to the shifter. Start takeing it apart. It pretty much in you face stuff. once you get the shifter down put the new one in the same way you took the old one out.
