I have a 94 chevy camaro V6 3.4 and lately the car doesnt feel the same. when I drive it and try to accelerate it doesnt kick me back like it would normally do it would sound different then when im going to 60mph it starts getting really rough and jerks alot. I think its my air filter or spark plugs but i really dont know. Any suggestions on what it could be, I dont want to take in to the dealer cause it seems there not doing there job everytime i take it in to get something wrong.

......... it doesnt kick me back like it would normally do..........I dont want to take in to the dealercause it seems there not doing there job ........You have to learn to tune it yourself or take it to a shop that has a dyno. Dealers normally don't have dynos. Also, a dealer would be hesitant to take it on the road to test it properly because of the time, and the insanely slow highway speed limits we have. .§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§REFUSE . . TO . . I had this problem in one of my cars. I thought it was the tires needing balanced at first, but after i had that done i still had the problem. I bought all new plugs, and plug wires, and that took care of my problem.

Hello !!!

I agree completely with the advice that was given to learn to tune the car YOURSELF. Also, you could take it a step further and change those oxygen sensors!!

I know I must sound like a broken record about these Haynes and Chilton Manuals, but those books were the best investment I have ever made.
The books include step by step walkthroughs on all the basics as well as the indepth stuff.

Drop the $15.00 on a manual and check it out. If at that point you are not comfortable working on your own car, big deal, you're out $15.00, but at least you can talk to the mechanic you choose, in something approximating his/her language.

Good luck!!

hey xenostalgia!!

the project is going pretty cool! Thank you for asking! I have some problem dash lights (ABS INOP and AIR BAG lit.) and have to run those down when the Cleveland weather breaks. Also I have to finish the interior, new head liner and dash cover. But I have been driving my girl for the last few monthes every day to work, with little or no problems.

On Easter I did notice a weeping coolant leak, Do you think I can get away with just replacing the water pump gasket, or should I replace the pump and gasket? Let me know what you think!!

Thanks again for the inquirery!!

Jack
