Mono sucks ass!

really it does man, I've been sick off and on since new years and I found out 2 days ago that it's mono:banghead:, WTF mono is supposed to be "the kissing disease" but I haven't been kissing anyone nor do I know anyone with it besides me. It's supposed to be contagious----BULLSHIT! I haven't givin it to anybody and I've been coughing on ppl I hate and drinking after the same ppl I hate since I found out that I had mono and found out it's contagious, I'm phuckin tired of being sick and having to stay on the couch, I can't even swallow water without it hurting, much less food. My doctor tells me that "basically your kidneys, liver, and spleen have shutdown to a certain extent" I asked him if he was kidding me and he tells me that he isn't and that if I don't get constant rest until it is through running it's course I could possibly wind up in the hospital! Oh well at least I have 3 weeks outta school that's excused! I just wanted to blow some steam here, If anyone else has been unfortunate to go through this tourment, go on ahead and post your story here. but any tips would be better.

mono blows...

i had it freshman year of college. it sucked, not liek i can take a few weeks off of school there...i literally slept on a bath towel every night because i would COMPLETELY soak up my bed sheets. i dunno who i kissed that i got that nasty shit. i had a SPLITTING headache that i can't even describe and a pneumonia like cough. i was sleeping over 18 hrs a day. you'll get over it though. the best part of it was it was during football season when i got it and i went to the ucla/usc game in a beer bus and i got absolutely trashed off of my mind off like 3 beers because my liver didn't work.

yeah I found out ur alcohol tolerance is crap when u have no liver to fight it.

i can be very easily spread by kissing, but i think the main reason people get it, is because they over work themselves. Not enough sleep, bad eating habbits, to much drinking. YOu just tire your body out and leave it open for illnesses.

Yeah mono does suck, I had it 2-3 years ago and boy did my grades go down. For me I was tired all the time, I never had any energy. And then at school if you tell people thats what you have they are like "so who did you kiss". Like that doesn't ever get old... As for tips all I did was drink water for like a month straight and then it slowly got better,

I have a minor case of mono. I thought my gf was drity but I actually caught it from a friend that I hanged out with alot ( no I didnt kiss him) I feel like shit off and on. Right now im feeling good tommorow im gonna feel like shit.

I thought I had mono for a whole year. Turned out I was just really bored.

Mono is pretty harsh; when I had it I was out of HS from mid-Dec until the beginning of Feb, and I felt dead the whole time. The glands in my neck stuck out like ping-pong balls; once I started recovering, I could feel the things draining....

i had mono for like a yr on and off, i was really sick for 2 mtns, then on and off for like a yr. i still dont think my immune system fully recovered! lots of rest!
