90 Probe 2.2 Stalling

My Probe starts easily and quickly, once underway you must throttle hard or it will die. Refuses to decelerate without engine dying. once to cruise speed it may die and if I keep pressure on or increase the pedal pressure it will start on it's own(Automatic trans), the Dash light does flash(eng service). I haven't checked for code yet, do have a Chilton manual that explains the procedure........Thought I would check on here for some ideas first.... Thank you.........No troulble till now and was immediate
