i've done one so far (5-6 hours of work), three more to do.

grinded paint completely off centers, primed, painted (3 coats), clearcoated (2 coats). wetsanded lip with 800, 1000 then 2000 grit sandpaper. buffed with polishing attachment on a dremel, using mother's polishing creme.

insane! they actually look better in person. i'm starting the other front one today then doing the other two after they mount and balance the new 245's on them.

wow nice job. wasn't really impressed until i saw the "before" pics. ur chuki is seriously coming out really sweet.

Thats why I called BS on those wheels at first. look at how awkard the bolt pattern is lined up with the spokes. :uhoh:

i must have missed your thread hahahhaa.. i wouldn't went off on you. i don't make up b.s. to impress people online.

the bolt pattern is PIMP. they are real old school jdm wheels with style. try finding wheels with this bolt pattern hehe. at first im like wtf... then they definitely grew on me. these wheels were most likely made in the 80's, they are a real classic impul rim.

impul rs limited (hoshino racing) 16" x 7" +32. they are three piece rims. when i paint them i take apart the whole center and paint that seperately, keeps things nice and clean & even. i wouldn't normally put 245's on 7" rims but if you seen how bad i lose traction, even with the vlsd you'd agree with me. and i like big profile tires because roads here suck, and im looking to fill up the fender and wheel gap with some bigass tires.


working on second wheel... layed down first coat of paint. looks like its coming out the same if not better!

what kind of paint are you using??

they look good. i hate painting rims, so tedious. But the end result makes it all good. I refinished my dads 300z rims before he sold it. THey looked brand spankin new. Yours look real good for what they used to be. Correction extremely good for what they used to be.

thanks, actually the sanding and painting is a piece of cake.. but the polishing sucks!

i used duplicolor 500 degree high heat engine glossy black paint and clearcoat.

all you need is some tire spray

or a good rain to come in ;)

i slaved and did the other three last night and earlier today... my god i was/am exhausted. i'll take some pics with the new bigger tires on tomorrow.

Awesome rims, where did you find them?
