Title says it all? lol

Its a 1989 subaru legacy with a 1.8 carbureted motor
My mate hit a railway crossing kinda hard and got airborne,
once he landed his car lost power and backfired a couple of times,
When you crank it it fires on 2 cylinders, gonna check for compression, fuel and ignition in the mornin, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

Seeing the title I thought it meant jump as in jump start....... not as in Dukes of Hazzard-type jump. lol

Just had to throw that in.......... wish I could help ya with the problem

Found some of the problems, Had no compression so we checked the cambelt and it had skipped about 7 teeth, Checked for fuel and ignition both are ok.
Fixed the cam timing and checked compression again, Ok this time (Phew),Ignition timing is correct, however It still wont start, when you crank it now you can hear the compression on 3 of the cylinders then it Backfires and hits back on the starter motor, We're 100% sure that the cam and ignition timing are correct and that there are no bent valves,

Any suggestions?

All Fixed :)

Turns out that when you set the cam timing you set it with the crank at 90°
Also it is a free running motor :)
