So we all know my car was wrecked, and that really sucked for me, I miss my car, always will, and I will have to eventually get another one, but.... that wont be yet, because.... I already got another car, and it wasnt a T Bird.

I got a 2000 Jaguar S Type. Im a balla now!! Since getting to Florida 2 weeks ago I have a good paying job, a pimp ride, and a girlfriend. But this is about my car...

Black on black on black. Black tint, black leather, black paint, mahogany steering wheel, woodgrain errwhere in dat bitch!, 6 disc changer, alarm, VALET key, moonroof with one touch switch, memory seats, auto lights (I love auto lights), 4 door, its fuckin tight....

its in immaculate condition, im super stoked. And Im also stoked that the battery is located in the trunk. That means when I wire up my system, I dont have to run wire all the way through the car. Just a couple feet to my amps. I'm gonna have a thumpin system in it too, its gonna be []D.[].[]V[].[]D.[].[]\[].!!!!!!

But I still like thunderbirds just as much when they are in nice condition and pimped out. So once I can afford another car I will get a thunderbird and overhaul it. Anyways, just had to spill out some of my excitement.

Oh my goodness, what's wrong with people these days?

1. A car like that is worth somewhere near $20,000. Insurance for someone your age will be a lot, and if you only have minimum coverage, that's just stupid.

2. You said that you've been living in Florida for 2 weeks, and got a good job. How do you know that they're going to keep you there? Your boss might not be happy with you, and lay you off next week. And you're stuck with a nice car, and no way to pay for it.

3. If you do have a good job, why don't you start saving money now, and putting money down each month? Are you familiar with compound interest? Look at an online calculator at money.msn.com, and find out how much money you can have in 40 years just by putting down a little bit each month.

Bottom line is that you don't NEED a car like that. Sure, everything is fine with moderation, but I think you've gone overboard. Get a cheaper car if you need transportation, and if you want a car that can pick up chicks, get a Honda civic, put a wing on it and a bunch of stickers.

How about you go to hell and criticize people?? Let the kid live the way he wants to live, your not his parent.

None the less nice car man, Jaguar's are pretty nice cars too. Better get a system in her soon, that battery in the back will be extremely nice, 2ft of wire instead of 15 ft of wire! Hell...might even toss in two optima's and wire em up together :naughty:

How about you not be a jackass? He was just stating his opinion, it's not as if he was forcing Rick to give up the car.

And I'd have to agree with claw, for once, I think this was a rather silly move so early in your new job. Hope everything works out for you Rick, not like with the Tbird.

You know you'll need a second one now, so when one is in the shop getting fixed you can have the other one to drive.

:p

Just kidding, hope you have fun and this doesn't come back and bite you in the ass somehow.

Alright, I wasn't saying just in reference to Rick, claw has made plenty of other posts like this, so don't be calling me the jackass becasue that's not the way it was meant to be taken.

Rick came here to show everybody his nice new car, I'm sure he didn't post this to get criticized by people about it. Some of you are too quick to judge people.

Sorry if I offended you with my comments, but I feel that younger people today don't really think about the future, all they care about is what is happenening now. I want people to think a little bit more before making wrong decisions.

But claw, there isn't much you can do, especially with such a relationship over the net. I agree with what you're saying, but what more can you do?

Nice car Rick. There are plenty of S-Type models out there :p Best of luck with it!

Not really, I know of plenty of people who aren't Doctors or Lawyers who have either an S Type or similar (5-series, E class etc.), in fact some aren't even what we'd call "professionals"

Nice car by the sounds Rick, is it a 3.0 V6 or 4.0 V8?

First mod needs to be the sport grille, if you don't already have one. Pics please.

first: Clawhammer, maybe next time you can ask the situation before you criticize me. I'm not offended, you just made a mistake. If I didnt even have a job right now, I would be okay. I have enough money to make my payments for a few months, and my insurance is already paid for the next six months. I also have enough money to pay for my trade school (Car stereo and customization) which will provide me with certifications which will provide me with at LEAST a 15$/hr job. THEN, in a few months after I get out of the trade school, I will be receiving my insurance check from my neck and back injury. ALSO, a honda civic costs around 16,000$. Guess what... My jag cost me 16,000$ And by the way... I would never ever ever ever be caught dead buying a honda civic, and if I was caught dead buying a honda civic, there would not be a gay ass wing on it. And just to comfort you clawhammer.....my future is THE shit. kay.

Now... First mod is is gonna be sound system work. I already own the whole system, including wires, so thats in the bag. Next mod will be RIMS! I could take 200 and buy that pimpin grille, but I'd rather save that 200 towards my rims so I get them quicker. then the grille. Then I will shave the emblems from the trunk. Then a body kit. And since it matches my black paint, then I will put a carbon fiber hood on it (yes they have them). I don't anticipate having all this done until about 2 years or so. BTW, its the 3.0 V6. Its still pretty quick though. But I am gonna take real good care of this car. I'll just take it slow and cruise everywhere instead of flyin... I mean... whats the rush? Im in a jag.

pics within a week.

Yeah claw I can see where you're coming from I was just saying that he came here to express his excitement about getting a new car and it's just "not nice" as someone's mommy would say, to criticize him for that. If it were to be a bad decision then let it bite him in the ass then criticize, but none of us really knew his situation with money so I thought it was just kind of pre-determined. I guess if you were doing it for the caring part then cool man, all people need to be happy and have confidence in their decisions.

You are right about the whole thing with us younger people not making too many decisions, or the right ones, about our futures. I cannot say why many of us are that way, but I can tell you why I live my life day by day. There's too much of it to screw up, and when I try to plan something it just goes to hell.

Good going man, I bought an Aston Martin DB9 yesterday.

Oh wait, no I didn't. Just fantasised that I did.

S Types are nice though, should love your one, I see an S Type R outside of Uni all the time, it's a damned nice car, makes me wish I could afford one.

Like gotti said-chrome rims along with jimster-sport grille. and how can you afford a jag? Simplified.. look......

i am hoping i get this job i applied for that pays at least 12.00a/h. (fixin wheel chairs. motorized. no experinece needed, they will teach you. oh and my dad approves and un-approves wheelchairs/parts from the DHS for that business. So I have a good chance. maybe)
12*40=480 - one week
four weeks - $1,920 (about $2112 monthly except feb.)
one year - $24,960
and lets just say 25,000 for a car in 60 months would split into $416 (still alot) with nothing down and after fin. and if your young, with a co-sign. banks usuaslly want you car payment to be 15% to 20% of your income. thats is about where how much money you need to put down comes from. Not me tho. to much for me too handle. Nice score tho. Rickwitha jag u ar ;)

Who cares about pictures of the Jag - what does the girlfriend look like?

RickwithaTbird

^ lmao

I got a pic of the jag with her too. I'm dropping the film off tonight. Mostly exterior pics though. I took about 8-10 shots right after I washed and waxed it. I think I'm going to spot clean it again tomorrow and give it a few more layers of wax. My next roll of film will have some more interior shots. I'm still stoked about the car, and I cant wait to get the pics to see how nice it looks in photos.

Rick, as moderator I apologise wholeheartedly about the idiots still left on this forum.

Very, very, very nice ride. Get something quality for the right price and it will last for ages. Just don't do anything stupid like a fat exhaust and you're set.

And put some Pirelli's on those new rims. And get some sway bars.
