Hey guys, im from another part of AF, but came to visit here because i have a few questions. How many miles do you get with an LS6? i have found places on the internet because i have searched, but i would also like to hear from actual owners who are driving them on the streets.
and my second question was, what makes this engine so econimical? I have been told its said to get 29mpg but i cant see how this is on a 5.7L V8, i need some proof here. Please help me out guys.
(i dont even know if im posting this in the right part of AF, sorry if not)

I can move it to the Vette forum if you like as the LS6 was a Vette engine. Some of the 2001 & 2002 F-body's got the block but it was really a Z06 Engine. Yes it makes crazy amounts of power while still providing great gas mileage as seen from http://www.corvetteconti.com/Z06-LS6-V8.htm . Good luck.
John
Edit- Also the WS.6 was a performance RPO(regular production option) package code not a engine code. If your talking about 4th Gen engine's. The F-body's have LT1's (93-97)or LS1's(98-02)

It's called Overdrive.
While I don't have the LS6, I have the L98 (350CI, 230HP) with a 4 + 3 manual tranny.
Highway driving I average 27+ MPG, as 4th gear in overdive relates to something like .85 final drive. Some of the manual 6 speed trannys have final drives down in the .52:1 range (wheels turn .52 of a rotation to 1 engine revolution).
My city driving without using the overdive gears in 2nd,3rd,and 4th gear averages around 15MPG.
