The Behemouth runs!!!

Well, the Behemouth truck I posted about along time ago is up and running. There have been some changes since I posted that thread and I do have pictures which I will post hopefully within the next week. It runs exteremly well considering. As a refresh, it uses a 8-cell 2400 pack and two speed gem 2 14 turn motors. With out the body, because we havent finished yet, it weighs about 17 pounds, but handles and goes better than you would think. For its length, it has a suprisingly short turning radius but is very top heavy, and in a straight line it goes quite well and has enough power to pull the front wheels off teh ground. This is just a start though, I'll post more on it later.

I forgot to say that it uses a Novak Super Rooster for and esc and the motors are wired in parrell.

That looks interesting, I'm guessing its a home built. But it looks really nice, well done! :D

So whats it like to drive off-road?, you said it was top heavy, so I'm guessing it rolls easily. It also looks like its got plently of power behind it!!

So what did you make it out of? and is it based on another truck chassis? or is it your own design?

Its kinda home built. Because of the lights that are on it, its too much of a show truck to run right now. It's called Light Menace because of the 90 lights on it, so I'll post pictures of the completed project as soon as i get them from ym roomate, but this will be Version 1.0, lol. We are removing 16 lights, and add 12 LED's and 4 neon tubes. The chasis is from New Era, its made out of Chrome molly, the suspension links are two links from New era sleeved in aluminum with threaded rod in the middle to make it longer. With all the barreries and lights it weighs about 26 pounds. The shocks are from new Era, there are two shocks on teh lower arms if I didn't say that already. The springs are from a fastner place that cant be compressed more than 3/4 of an inch in your hand. The length and height can be changed, It can be as long as 36 inches or as short as 18 inches and a wheelbase from 28 inches to 8 inches. The height ranges from 27 inches to 12 inches. There are 27 toggle switches for the 90 lights. The lgihts are powered 28 AA batteries and 11 9 volt batteries. It has a XR-3 radio for independent steering of the front and rear axles too. Thanx for the compliments, we took it to the track by my house yesterday where teh state champsionship were being held and we had some of the factory drivers for Team losi talking to us. Well ask anything else and I'll be happy to tell you.
